Dr Samer Humadi works as a Consultant Surgeon in the department of Upper Gastrointestinal and Bariatric Surgery at Ashford & St. Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. He also works as a Consultant Bariatric Surgeon at St. George’s Healthcare NHS Trust.
Dr Samer Humadi trained as a Clinical Research Fellow at the Hammersmith Hospitals from 2000 to 2002 after which he trained as a Specialist Registrar in General Surgery at the Southwest Higher Surgical Training Programme. His training rotation involved working at the following hospitals: Cheltenham, Frenchay, Weston, Yeovil, Musgrove Park, Gloucestershire Royal, Bristol Royal Infirmary and the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
After completing his general surgery training, he has chosen upper gastrointestinal surgery as a speciality of interest. He has also specialised in Bariatric (obesity) surgery having worked at the Bariatric Unit at Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton.
As a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal & Bariatric Surgeon, he is particulary interested in performing weight loss surgery. He is also interested in the diagnosis and treatment of upper gastrointestinal surgical diseases including gallbladder surgery, open and laparoscopic hernia repair, hiatus hernia, anti-reflux surgical procedures and upper gastrointestinal endoscopy.
Consultations are also available in Arabic. All the Bariatric surgery that Dr Humadi undertakes, with both NHS and private patients, are logged on to the National Bariatric Register.
